Aclima is grateful to Governor Newsom for reiterating his and our home state’s commitment to the cap-and-trade program. Ratified under Republican Governor Schwarzenegger, cap-and-trade helps create jobs and ensure California’s climate leadership, as we together work toward cleaner air for the benefit of all of our communities.

As the funding source behind California Climate Investments, cap-and-trade dollars make possible public-private partnerships like the one we announced with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Together, we are deploying advanced pollution mapping technologies across California communities of concern.

We’ve created an efficient, rapid response, cost-effective, and community-centered approach to identifying pollution at its source. It is an essential step toward cleaner and healthier air — for the benefit of all Californians.

We extend our gratitude to Senators Monique Limón, Mike McGuire, Ben Allen, Josh Becker, Catharine Blakespear, Anna Caballero, Lena Gonzalez, John Laird, and Henry Stern, along with Buffy Wicks, Robert Rivas, and Jesse Gabriel.
