Mikela Topey is a passionate advocate for environmental and economic justice, dedicated to making energy-efficient and decarbonizing technologies accessible to all communities. She brings extensive expertise in supporting investor-owned utilities (IOUs), community choice aggregators (CCAs), regional energy networks (RENs), and local governments in developing and implementing impactful energy programs.
Currently serving as the Executive Director of AIA San Fernando Valley, Mikela collaborates with the board to set strategic direction, manages organizational growth, and designs fundraising events and grant opportunities to ensure financial stability. Her role involves engaging with nonprofits, academic institutions, and public officials while overseeing communications and compliance.
As Principal Consultant at Lorde Dynamics, Mikela drives client success by managing funding initiatives, developing grant strategies, and orchestrating marketing and outreach campaigns. She also fosters relationships with key stakeholders to advocate for client projects and business development.
Mikela’s previous experience includes advancing energy-efficient affordable housing, leading community workforce agreements, developing training programs, and spearheading community engagement around building electrification and economic inclusion. Her work reflects a deep commitment to equity, sustainability, and the empowerment of underserved communities.
